SWCH40K

SWCH40K is a carbon steel wire for cold heading. The corresponding standard of SWCH40K cold heading carbon steel wire is JIS G3507-2-2005. It belongs to cold heading steel forming steel with good cold heading performance. The cold heading process can save raw materials and reduce costs. At the same time, it can improve the tensile strength and performance through cold work hardening.

The specific gravity of this wire is generally around 7.87, but the specific value will vary slightly due to factors such as carbon content, composition of various components, added elements and processing content.

Production process:

Process D: cold drawing of wire rod into steel wire;
Process DA: annealed cold drawn steel wire and annealed wire rod into cold drawn steel wire.

Deoxidation method: The character after the number in the grade indicates the deoxidation method of the steel, and "K" stands for killed steel.

Features:

  • Good cold heading performance

  • Strong machinability

  • Clear regulations and reliable quality

  • Widely used

  • Specific mechanical properties

Application: Suitable for manufacturing various types of screws (such as bolts, nuts, rivets, machine screws, self-tapping screws, etc.) and various parts made by cold heading; can be used in automobiles, shipbuilding, equipment manufacturing, electronics, home appliances, bicycles, tools, light steel structures, construction and other industries.

Mechanical properties:

-After spheroidizing annealing (DA) before cold working of the wire, the tensile strength must be ≤670MPa, the cross-sectional shrinkage rate must be ≥55%, and the hardness HRB≤94.

It should be noted that for steel wires with a diameter of 20mm or more, the minimum cross-sectional shrinkage rate should be 5 less than the specified value; for steel wires with a diameter of 3mm or less, the cross-sectional shrinkage rate is usually not specified.
